As a Receiver at Peddler's Son, you are responsible for unloading all incoming freight. You are expected to following receiving standards and procedures as well as working as effectively as possible, to receive, process, store, rotate, stock as directed.

Accurate physical receiving of materials/product in order to maintain integrity of inventory control, and insures delivery of materials/product to the proper area of the warehouse. Performs a variety of receiving tasks. Verifies materials received are as ordered.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Unload and receiving product safely in accordance to PSP policies and procedures.
  • Verify accuracy and count of product on receiving documents.
  • Stage and segregate product in designated areas.
  • Break down product as necessary
  • Complete all necessary documentation of incoming freight
  • Report all discrepancies, damages, and other issues
  • Responsible for cleanliness
  • Maintain department productivity and accuracy goals
  • Participates in a safety culture that includes no recordable accidents and no loss time injuries. Always make the safe choice. Ensures proper SOP is used at all times. Watches out for co-workers and warn them when there are any safety issues or hazards. Participates actively in all safety programs and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Stock and maintain inventory items in designated warehouse storage areas.
  • Safeguard and account for all inventory moving in and out of the warehouse
  • Work closely with management staff to ensure ample materials are available at all times to support day to day activities
  • Report unsafe acts, carelessness and theft to the Warehouse Supervisor immediately
  • Maintain warehouse area in a clean, organized and orderly fashion

Pay and Benefits

  • Starting pay will depend on experience ($16.00 per hour)
  • Medical, Vision and Dental insurance will be available after 60 days
  • 401K after 6 months 
  • Vacation and sick pay available - Accrued on a pay period basis
  • 6 paid holidays per year

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  •  High school diploma or general education degree (GED), 1 - 3 months of related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong communications skills and negotiating skills are required.
  • Must be able to learn constantly to meet the changing requirements of the job.
  • Warehouse receiving experience preferred
  • Warehouse equipment experience (forklift) required.
  • Must be willing to learn and pass training for certification to work in this role.
